Reiki sessions are generally experienced as deeply healing and restorative. While everyone’s experience is unique, there is no such thing as a ‘bad’ effect from Reiki.

Each Reiki session is a personal journey. Your intention and what you hope to gain plays a powerful role in shaping your experience. As your practitioner, your intention is something I am working towards you achieving through your session. During your session, bringing your higher self/wiser mind forward is also something I am working towards.

Reiki is a Japenese word meaning ‘Universal Life Force Energy’. It’s based on the belief that all living things are made of energy, and this energy can be channeled with intention to support healing and balance. Reiki works with the aura, meridians, and chakras (energy centers of the body). While Reiki has existed in various forms for thousands of years, it was formerly introduced by Mikao Usui in Japan in 1922. It reached the U.S a decade later through Hawayo Takata, who began teaching and sharing the practice in Hawaii. Whether it’s for a few minutes or an hour, there is no such thing as receiving too little or too much Reiki.

In a Distant Reiki Session, the practioner sends energy remotely while the recipient remains open and receptive. Intention, relaxation, and minimizing distractions are key to receiving the energy fully. Reiki can be just as effective across distance as in person, since energy is not limited by time or space. In a Traditional In-Person Session, Reiki is shared through gentle touch or hand placements while you relax on a massage table. Whether you’re receiving Reiki in person or from a distance, the more relaxed and open you are, the more powerful the results.
